bucket list check: 30 x 30

Throughout the few years that I've been traveling internationally, I never actually composed a bucket list of sights or destinations I just had to visit. When I lived in Ethiopia, I took a trip through Bahir Dar, where I visited the Blue Nile at Lake Tana, and by then, I had decided that I wanted to visit the other source of the River Nile at Lake Victoria. A couple years later, I went on a rafting trip on the White Nile in Jinja, Uganda.

Besides that single mission, I hadn't thought to make it a point to see things like all of the world wonders, for example (good to know that I've been to several of those!). Last year I was introduced to an application that allows you to track the countries that you've traveled to and it calculates the percentage of each continent you've covered as well. It was at this moment that I realized that I was sitting in my 26th country. With my 30th birthday around the corner, I figured that I could make it to 30 by then, so I set out on a new mission!

I found this pendent sifting through a vintage shop in Cairo, Egypt. It's the continent of Africa with the River Nile carved out...how perfect! I am...The Nile Chaser!
